Bucharest Architectural Monuments
Triumphal Arch
Build initially by wood in 1922 and after that, between the years 1935-1936, was rebuild by reinforced concrete and granite. The architect by whose plans was realized the construction is Petre Antonescu. The Monument is dedicated to the Romania armies' fights during the First World War.
National Military Circle
Build in 1912 on the same place where was before the Monastery of Saridar. It contains conference halls, reception parlor, a library and a lending library.
Cotroceni Palace
Build in 1893 according to the plans of the French Achitect Paul Gotterea serving as permanent residence of Ferdinand Prince. At present is the residence of Romania Presidency. The Museum gathers old Romanian art collections, European decorative art etc
Bucuresti University
Was founded in July 1864 and its first Rector was Gheorghe Costa Foru. The Revolution of December 1989 made Piata Universitatii the symbol of liberty.
Romanian Athenaeum
The funds for the construction of athenaeum were raised by public collection. Build in 1888, famous names of Romanian music performed on the stage at Athenaeum: George Enescu, Dinu Lipatti, Maurice Ravel, David Oistrach, Yehudi Menuhin.
Romanian National Opera
Was build in 1953. Famous interprets performed on the Romanian Opera stage: Elena Teodorini, Florica Cristoforeanu etc.
